Tuesday and Wednesday

Wow, I think that is about all I can say, Yesterday we would have done better swimming from stop to stop. We left Jackson in the rain and it rained most of the day. We crossed the Tennessee River and that was one of the best views that I have ever seen.

Here is a Picture showing one of my compatriots climbing up the bridge and then a view from the looking over the bridge.

This morning (Wednesday) was a pretty wild one, we started out with a tree falling and almost hitting some of the riders, after talking to some of the other riders, no one really knew what to yell I wish I had a picture of it, but it was way to crazy to take any.

This years tour has been a great one, some of the stronger riders are really working pull some of us weaker one up the hills. Tim, Todd and Pastor Eric are there of these guys so I needed to take a picture of them. BTW the rumor circulating as to why the tree fell was that they rode too fast past it.

Sleeply in Jackson TN

We finished up day 1. We rode 89.45 miles, and according to my bike computer I used up some 5000 calories. The day started with a short trip to the Memphis Downtown DCS office and then off to the Youth Villages Bartlett Campus. We rode in to Bartlett campus to about 50 cheering kids, who wanted the precious bracelets. This tour is the most amazing adventure, and for me it is all made possible to my son, Antonio.

The legs feel good, we will see what tomorrow brings. Tomorrow trip is 110 miles from Jackson to Dickson.

Hopefully I will have some pictures to put up.

It was a pretty good day to celebrate the Phillies win and moving on.

Headed out to Memphis this morning we took a few pictures, this year we had the most riders from East Tennessee, the Tour Director made a trailor to get them there. Rumor this evening was that there was enough weight in the trailer that the YUKON pulling it was only getting 6mpg.

Some place in TN there is a place called General Lee's and this is the steam engine that is sitting outside, The BBQ was tempting, but I decided against it and just go with the good 'ole subway.

Tomorrow is Day 1, last year we had "heart gallery" pictures waiting for us at the first stop. The heart gallery is photo's of children that are ready and waiting for their forever home.

The Reason I ride

The reason that I ride, Antonio sent me off to Memphis in grand style, telling me that he loved me. The smile on my face is because I know he loves me. He is my reason and the strength that powers me for 433.7 miles

The Night before

Tomorrow is the start of my 433.7 mile trek across Tennessee, I am meeting up with the rest of the folks from East Tennesse and headed to Memphis for the start of the Adoption Tour. I hope to have pictures updated nightly.

We are planning on starting the trek by dipping our tired in the Mighty Mississippi.
